PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALWAYS ASK TO SEE THE PLAYER REGISTRATION SHEET BEFORE EACH MATCH. NOT CHECKING MAY COST YOU A FINE OF £25. DO NOT START A MATCH IF THE OPPOSING MANAGER DOES NOT HAVE IT.
POSTPONEMENTS
Message from League ChairmanFurther to discussions which I have held with committee members, including league and fixtures secretary Debbie Knowles, we have agreed that, as of this weekend and onwards there will no longer be a requirement for both teams involved in a match to submit postponement forms when a change of date is requested.
To assist - below is a step by step guide to arranging changes which we hope will make this procedure less complicated, easier to administer and, ultimately, result in the smoother running of the league for both managers and league administrators:
What do I do if I want to have a match date changed?(1) Contact the opposing manager and advise them that you intend to submit a request for a change and identify the new date you wish to play on which should be the ealiest possible (i.e. if it's possible to bring the date forward then do so)
(2) The team manager who has instigated the requested change should complete the postponement screen and provide sufficient information for the fixtures secretary to make a decision - showing clearly the reasons and new date requested.(3) Both managers will receive an e-mail with the details of the request when it is submitted for their information.
(4) The fixtures secretary will review the request and reply, normally within 24 hours, either approving or rejecting the request. In the event of the request being approved the new date will automatically be changed on the website. In the event of the request being rejected the reasons will be shown and the match will be expected to be played in line with the original date.(5) A copy of the postponement acceptance or rejection will be e-mailed simultaneously to both managers for their information.
(6) No further action will then be required by either manager other than to play the game on the date approved.(7) In the event of a match being unable to be played on the day because of unavoidable reasons such as weather or pitch conditions, the home side should normally complete and submit the postponement giving the reason and new date proposed. Providing a postponement from one team or other is received though then this will normally be acceptable, however it is important that managers check to make sure the postponement has been requested and the date of the game rescheduled. Failure to submit a postponement at all will result in both clubs being fined.
I trust this arrangement assists. The requirement up until this point and during previous seasons has been that both teams must submit a postponement and clubs have received fines as a result of not complying with this. Fines which are outstanding are still required to be paid as the requirement for both teams to submit requests has been included on the front page of the KernowLeague site and been announced at league meetings.
